Streamlining Mortgage Lending with Glide: How OnTrack Mortgage's Transformed Their Business
In a recent project, I had the opportunity to work with OnTrack Mortgage, a private money lender company. OnTrack Mortgage’s approach to mortgage lending involves presenting opportunities to a network of private lenders to secure funding, diverging from traditional bank-based methods.
OnTrack Mortgage stands out in the financial sector as a private money lender. Their mission is to simplify the mortgage process by connecting borrowers directly with a network of private lenders, offering a more personalized and efficient lending experience. However, every growing company has its own challenges.
With my help, I was able to help OnTrack Mortgage to set themselves up for future growth and eliminate time-wasting procedures that bogged down the company.
What OnTrack Mortgage Wanted Out of An Application
Too much business can be a problem. For OnTrack Mortgage, the issue was managing the many new opportunities at their doorstep and keeping track of their current progress. They relied on phone calls for communication and follow-ups, which led to missed details, forgotten invitations, and lost email threads. Overall, their workflow was cumbersome and inefficient.
They came to me with a simple desire, and the CEO, Erik, summed up their needs perfectly—they needed a way to get organized.
How I Used Glide to Build OnTrack Mortgage a Custom App
To address these challenges, I used Glide to create an application for OnTrack Mortgage. Their new solution allows for the easy addition of prospects to opportunities. Another feature I was sure to include was the capability for prospects to securely review and agree to the terms and conditions.
Admins could also update mortgage opportunities, while prospects could view a history and summary of their claimed opportunities, all within the app.
It’s All In the Details
The first step was understanding how the data interrelated. The OnTrack team needed to create opportunities with attachments, lender invites, and lender queries. With a clear data direction, I designed the app based on Erik’s preferences, incorporating user role-based feature restrictions (Admin/Team Member/Lender).
Other details I was careful to include in the app I created for the OnTrack team:
Features to Customize Opportunities: Recording property, loan, and borrower details in the app.
Admin-Lender Interaction: Enabling admins to invite lenders to opportunities and notify them via email.
Lender Engagement: Allowing lenders to review details and attachments and indicate their interest.
The Final Product
The automation work I did for OnTrack saved Erik approximately 4 hours per week in phone calls, depending on lender interest. Now, clients of OnTrack Mortgage now receive faster funding responses due to the streamlined and automated process.

What I Learned from Working with OnTrack Mortgage
One of the best takeaways from this project with OnTrack Mortgage was just how much of a difference automated processes can make for a business. Wasted time can throttle a business, and this project absolutely highlights the incredible efficiency gains achievable by documenting processes.
Also, identifying automatable elements and building a tool to manage it all helps to take app creation to the next level. The Glide app I created not only saved time but also transformed the mortgage lending experience for Erik and his clients.
